The ChilKat 30 CatamaranCharter VesselsThe walk around pilothouse version of the ChilKat 30 makes an excellent 6 pack charter vessel. With both fore and aft decks available for fishing, as well as the side decks to fight a fish in either direction make for more room than any comparable vessel its size. The standard cabin layout is for helm and navigator's seats facing forward, and bench seats mid cabin. The stand up head can be configured to port or starboard depending on preference, a galley can be installed depending on clients needs, or the space can be used instead for more generous seating. A small refridgerator fits easily beneath the nav seat, and heat can be supplied via a Toyo or Wallas cabin heater with ducting to defrost the windshield and warm the passengers feet mid cabin. There is ample stowage under the bench seating, the helm seat and the foot rest boxes. Rod storage can be achieved by installing rocket launchers atop the aft end of the pilothouse roof, or rod holders can be installed vertically alongside the house.
Cruising ModelsThe trunk cabin, or cruising model of the ChilKat 30 boasts a spacious foward cabin which can be outfitted with 2 4'x6'6" bunks. This boat has a dinette which seats 4, a galley, fridge and standup head. A great boat for the serious sportfish entusiast who wants to cover some ground regardless of the weather conditions, or the hunter who wants a nice shallow draft boat to get into their favorite moorage.

Commercial Models
Alaskan waters require boats that are durable and able to handle inclimate weather, travel long distances and operate in rough seas comfortably. At Black Feather Boats we realized a need in Alaska for boats that were tough, fast, stable and versatile. The result is the ChilKat 30. It has been our vision in designing and building these boats that they be useful as rapid response vessels in oil spill containment, security applications, harbor master vessels, fire response and tenders for off-shore oil platforms and remote coastal work sites. Basically anywhere a fast, durable, stable ocean boat is needed, our boats can be a good fit. The addition of a boom reel on the aft deck could extend usefulness in spill response. With some additional reinforcement in the fore deck a .50 caliber machine gun can be mounted making the ChilKat 30 a quick and balanced port security vessel. Harbor masters will appreciate her maneuverability and towing capacity while the addition of a high capacity pump rig would make this power catamaran a solid fire response craft.
