Fuel Efficiency

Prices at the pump putting a crimp in your wallet, or worse yet, keeping you off the water? With a 10 gallon per hour burn while cruising at 30 knots, our cats will put you out on the water and keep you out there longer as you burn less fuel. How is this possible? Catamarans have less hull resistance in the water than V-hulls. Reduced resistance results in a high performance boat requiring less horsepower and fuel consumption than a comparable V-hull.

Speed

Sometimes getting to the fishing hole quickly can make all the difference. The smooth riding planing hull of the ChilKat 30 allows for a high performance fishing boat or work platform that can move along at over 40 miles per hour through smooth or choppy seas.

Comfort

Every detail, from the wave slicing stem to the quiet four-stroke outboards hanging off the stern has been thought out with your comfort in mind. The ChilKat 30 has a roomy, well-organized pilothouse with excellent visibility and spacious decks with plenty of fishing and storage space.

Safety

The walk around pilothouse design, her good turn of speed and great stability make the ChilKat 30 an extremely safe vessel.

Stability

The wider stance of the ChilKat 30, in comparison to V-hulls and many other Catamarans, creates a smooth ride and steady fishing or working platform. Greater stability allows you to travel and fish without trouble on days when the competition stays in the harbor. The picture below shows just how easy it is to put a load on our rails and barely tip the boat.

Alaskan Built

With more coastline than the rest of the United States combined, Alaska's coastal waters are often harsh and always spectacular. We live here so we know the toughness needed and the quality expected by serious boaters in the last frontier.

Vacuum Infused

Using the Vacuum Infusion Process (V.I.P.) we produce the strongest yet lightest boats available in fiberglass.

"Catamarans represent a new technology in this country, and the best way to convince yourself of that is to take a cat ride with a boat dealer or a friend who owns one. Talk to people at the docks. You'll find that every cat owner has moved up from a monohull, but few if any monohull owners switched from a catamaran. Start fishing offshore in a cat and you'll wonder how you got along without one."
